Help please how much salt/sugar in dried pease should i put in.

I was told that salt made the water boil faster

What's on todays menu Sutter ?

No idea maybe RATclette

Or something like this ???!!! Oh my stomach

(pic removed ... )

I feel sick after looking at that photo please remove it

Thanks i didn`t want anyone being put off there dinner

Is that parched pea sludge, mushy pea sludge or pease pudding sludge??

Surely not all three?

Next you'll be telling me you eat bubble and squeak...!

Eat it? I was brought up on it! It's really good made with left over brussel sprouts.

Ok mmmmmm sorry for being a bit dim here but what is bubble and sq (i can`t even spell it ) grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Nooooooooooo your a Northerner and you dont know what bubble and squeak is.

It's left over mashed potatoes and vegies from Sunday dinner all fried up into a patty. Usually Mondays menu in our house served with an egg on the top.

(+bacon for me dad)

i'm malaysian and even i know what it is!

LOL i know i`m sorry , ok what is a patty do you have to add something to make it , and do you fry it in olive oil

Show off, anyway i didn`t come from a home with many home cooked meals it was more restaurants, or take outs apart from sundays when my Grandma would do a sunday Roast

sutter, just so you know, this is not the recipe for bubble & squeak. .. .

(just incase you were thinking of making it for dinner.... )

SO i am not planning on eating our rats (btw playing it safe tonight we are having pizza )

And I believed bubble n squeak was when Sutter dropped her rats in a vat of champagne or prosecco.

Bubble & Squeak would not be cooked in Olive Oil

It is more likely to be cooked in beef dripping or bacon fat. You could serve it with black pudding and fried eggs or toad in the hole.

I tried to add a picture but there is still a problem with uploading them.

omg I can't believe I just read this thread.

Sutter I'm sure you are a lovely person but I can't help but think you should get out more.

You see hundreds of people just like me have read this and used up 0.000000001% of our lifespan here on earth.

I am sure you did not intend to consume our lives but you did. I am older now having read it and none the wiser. Furthermore I cannot get the time back - it's gone forever .

I am happy to experiment with mushy peas andif I devote my time and thoughts I can fix it.

Remenber - YES WE CAN!!!

Well, if you want to taste it (it *does* say add sugar and salt to taste) then you had better add a unit of each at the very least --- in other words one packet of salt and one packet of sugar.

Enjoy!

Oh, do take responsibility for your choices and actions. The thread title says it all. Sutter wasn't misleading you by typing for the title: "Philosophical discussion of why peas should stay green."

If you're on EF to find information or engage in profound discussion, you wouldn't have clicked on this thread. You know it's OK to admit we want to waste our time sometimes. Not everyone wants to learn quantum physics all day long. Understanding human nature can be more useful besides.

Also, some of the EF members merely want some human contact in the course of a day, no matter how silly or inconsequential. Sure, they'd love to get out more, but they have responsibilities at home, such as seeing to the needs of babies. Messing around on EF is just a laugh or a distraction once in a while.
