Any idea which is the best iron that will not damage my friend`s hair but make it smooths and shiny. She wants to do it once a month and for occasions. I have been scouting for the best iron for thick curly hair and i am REAL CONFUSED about which is best!!! Some are so expensive in Switerland. A price range of 50 to 70 dollars will be fine. What about this babybliss irons? Most flat irons` internet reveiwed are in USA. Or can someone who flies to the USA every now and then residing in Basel stadt help get a good one for me? I will be so grateful!!!
Don't buy irons in the US if they're going to be used in Basel - the voltage is different and the plug won't fit.
Without a doubt GHDs are the best irons out there - but you're looking at a price tag of 230CHF for those, so as a next best thing I'd look for some that are ceramic, as suggested by ratykae.
I use Jade soft flat irons i bought it from my hairdresser cost over 200frcs, but well worth paying more than less to protect your hair from being damaged.
i just got the GHD salon...thanks for all your response.
any suggestions on the best heat protectants too?
I use Kerastase Nectar Thermique. I really like it and can highly recommend it. It's a bit pricey.. I think I paid around CHF 30 for it however, it does not leave any kind of residue on my hair and leaves it feeling silky soft.
i use the remington sleek and curl, it is ceramic, it is digital, it works great, leaves your hair shiny and smooth, lasts really loooooooong, and it is not that expensive.
Good that you got GHD's definitely the best !
Heat protectant I would for sure get 'frizz ease'
Old thread, I know.
Anyway, folica.com (US based) sells 220-240v and universal voltage flat irons, even some with matching plug types for Switzerland (type C).
I'm Swiss and I imported one because I didn't want to settle with the brands sold here, but it got pricey, had to pay 40.- customs duty or so.
If you know someone in the States, having them ship it to you and set the parcel value to < 60CHF should lower shipping costs and evade customs
well i use the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. You can buy from http://MyHairStylingTools.com .
its pretty good, my hair looks great and i can make curls too, i love it.
