HEV - Haus Eigentümer Verband - useful?

Since buying our house we have been paying chef 75 per year to the HEV.

I'm questioning whether this is worth it, I'm not really sure what I get for this money. We get some newsletters and I'm told they can supply some draft legal documents if needed. I see you can phone them for legal advice but this appears to be independent of membership

Anyone have an opinion about the HEV? I plan to cancel my membership but figured I would ask here first.

Total waste of space. Was a member for 10 years only time we wanted an answer on a builder's bill being 20% above the quotation, they had no idea.

You can't just not pay, you have to give notice (12 months I think) or they keep billing you...
