I have just moved to Montreux from the United States and I'm hoping this forum can help with some of the adjustments. I worked as a development scientist in the States but resigned to move to Switzerland. I am currently looking for a job in the life science or environmental fields in the Vaud canton. I would also like to find a good personal tutor for French lessons, and possible someone who teaches guitar lessons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(I worked at SUNY with a boss from Philly, miss her talking about home..)
Welcome to the forum. You do realise how difficult it can be for non-EU’s to get a job here I hope. Not to mention (okay yes I will ) the fun and games with the Swiss banks over your American citizenship, your US tax compliancy and the new FATCA law that the US is foisting on the rest of the world.
I wish you luck with the job hunting. A few websites to explore:
www.jobs.ch
www.jobup.ch
www.monster.co.uk (yes they do have jobs advertised for Switzerland, just change the location setting)
