This weekend is supposed to be amazing weather wise and I was hoping to get out and explore the great outdoors. I am looking for a short (5k to 10k) hike with some gorgeous scenery like a waterfall, views of the Alps or a lake. Or maybe just something my husband and I can do outside and enjoy the sunshine that we are supposed to have this weekend. We are near to Zurich and I am thinking that we don't want to drive more then 2 hours. The goal is to try spend as much time outside as we can. Thank you for any and all help!
The Uetliberg to Felsenegg hike mentioned above is a good one -- even better if you start at the bottom (Albisgutli tram stop in Zurich) and walk up to Uetliberg.
I see you are in Aargau -- I highly recommend the ridge walk from Regensberg to Baden (or vice versa). Good public transportation access at both ends (as is the case for nearly all good Swiss hikes). See http://www.myswitzerland.com/en-us/t...idge-walk.html
Also, there are lots of great day hikes posted at http://activityworkshop.net/hiking/s...and/index.html . Be sure to check the elevation of any hike before mid-June, to make certain the trail is open (snow).
Finally, if you like easy hiking on packed snow, several of the local ski mountains (like Flumserberg) have Winterwanderweg, which are groomed daily, so snowshoes are not needed. This is a fun way to get Alpine beauty while hiking before the summer hiking season begins. Boots and sticks recommended.
Thank you both for your suggestions! I will checking out those places for sure!
Of course hiking on the Rigi or one of the neighboring mountains is always fantastic. They should have some winter hiking trails open as well.
