Does anyone have experience of hiring wine glasses for a party here (Zug)?
Many supermarkets did this back in UK (at least Waitrose!!)
Thanks.
Aidan
As a last resort does anyone have 2 doz champagne flutes that I could borrow for Boxing day Apero?

If you can’t fin somewhere to rent them, you can get inexpensive ones at Ikea. They will last you a lifetime.

Try here
but probably cheaper to buy at Ikea or Pfister
Not in our house they won’t, there are some very clumsy people living here.
I got a dozen last year at the bronki (spell?) used shop. You could try. Even cheaper than ikea and they had good quality.
wine sellers will provide glasses for free if you buy wine from them.

Get a bunch of these: https://www.ikea.com/ch/de/p/svalka-…caAh7EEALw_wcB
Cannot see anyone renting them to you for cheaper. They are relatively sturdy and if they break you will not break the bank

Maybe cheaper in long run to buy at Ikea, but I am constantly amazed that Pfister manages to stay afloat... I can't imagine, even in CH that so many people are willing to buy stuff at their prices... even if the quality is good.

We bought a load of plastic ones for our son's 18th birthday. Works well. You can even re-use them, and doesn't (in my view) affect the taste.

Buy them.
I rented a bunch in Zurich, cost was 1.50 per glass + a cleaning fee for the lot afterwards.
In retrospect, I should have just bought a bunch from ikea.
Buy used at Caritas/Emmaus/etc.

We bought 200 inexpensive wine glasses at IKEA for a conference. Washing and storing them is a bit of a pain.
Not even Waitrose will lend you glasses for prosecco bought at Lidl - just saying.
All cheese sellers here also lend fondue pots, etc- but only if you buy cheese from them. Fair enough, no?
Coop has two versions of plastic champagne glasses for sale. They will be in the off-shelf display for the New Years articles.
In fairness they did ask about hiring glasses so assume they were willing to pay, they weren’t expecting to get them for nothing.
