Hiring EU Nanny

Hi EF Community,

I found a nanny that I want to hire.

She is currently in Switzerland visiting her partner but she is from a EU country.

Ideally, I would like her to start in August but in that case she would need to leave the country and come back once I would need her.

If I made her work contract already for August, could she register for her permit already?

Ideally, I'd like some more time to make sure the work contract is as it should be, inform myself on AHV contributions, etc. Would a Vorvertrag work just for the purpose of registration?

All insight would be greatly appreciated!

It's too far ahead for her to get a work permit if she does not start work until August. She can certainly come as a 'tourist' and also 'to look for work' if she has an EU passport. The work permit will be issued *after* she starts actually working....

Unless you already own a business and can put her on the payroll, I'd suggest using a payroll company that will do all the correct deductions, pension etc for you. I believe some will also apply for the correct type of permit as well.
