Hoi zäme...

Hi,

We (Darphoenix and I) moved to Zurich in February 06. After life in Austin, Zurich was quite different. No spontaneous party invitations, good live music you can walk in on etc., but we have managed and have explored the Swiss outdoors by hiking and doing other outdoors activities.

Well now its 2007 and we still do not really know where to go to meet English speakers and just have some fun around town. Darkphoenix has since learned German astonishingly well. I grew up here, but interestingly enough, after 15 years in Austin with lots of amazing activities I seem to have more of a hard time than she is adjusting to Swiss life. What I miss most is the Texas weather.

Anyway, I'll let Darkphoenix introduce herself in another thread. I work in IT which pays the bills. My passion is photography. Especially infrared, smoke photography (my avatar) and nudes - www.infrapics.com . I am always looking to experiment with new things and my steady supply of models in Austin has ceased. So I have started dabbling in landscape photography and since there is such a plethora of people here (just try to go shopping on a Saturday - boxing skills required), we enjoy escaping from it all and hiking up a mountain.

So we would love to make some new friends around our age (I am 37 and Darkphoenix is 24).

We also love to cook, drink wine and go on sea kayaking expeditions (last couple have been with Orcas and Blue Whales - see pics here )

Cheers

Welcome, both of you! Beautiful avatar, Stephanwolf.

I'm envious of the "learnt German astonishingly well"...

Hi Argus,

Lame jokes - sounds like we have something in common there too

Greetings and Hi,sali Stephanwolf,

Nice photos!

It's a good thing you didn't live in southern California 15 years;because you would really be missin' California's warm weather and sunshine, live music;and the positive healthy vibz for sure.

Take care & welcome,

Ciao zämä!

Welcome to the forum...

... and for some reason I have a deja-vu when looking at your smoke-pictures. I am pretty sure I saw them a couple of months ago... either published online or even in a print edition of some photography magazine? Could my impression be right?

Hi,

So far my smoke images have only been displayed in Austin, TX. There are others who take smoke photos though, so it is possible that you some of those. My smoke photos can be found all over the net though, maybe you saw them there.

Thanks,

S
