Does anyone have sugestions for good German websites to book a holiday/vacation? I know of Flug.de but i am looking for flights out of Basel specifically and flug.de doesnt have deals from Basel. German sites are generally cheaper than the swiss ones. Thanks!
Expedia.de is pretty good.
I usually use expedia.ca because historically the Swiss france was pretty similar to the Canadian Dollar therefore, I didn't have to do much of a conversion.
Also a tip, if you see a flight on expedia, chances are that this particular flight is advertised cheaper on the airline's wesbite. However, it is not cheaper if you combine your trip with a hotel room.
By far the best is www.holidaycheck.de - it is a German version of "Trip-advisor meets expedia": You can read hundreds of thousands of reviews (if you can read German) and you get immediately a search for holiday packages from the most tour operators. I used them for five years or so and even when things did not work out and I needed their support to get a refund and rebook, they were quite ok. (Which is pretty unusual for a web-only low cost travel agency...)
I used http://www.airberlin-binoli.com to book a weekend trip to Berlin. Of course, you're restricted to Air Berlin flights, but I got a pretty good deal with the air and hotel combo deal.
