Have any of you, or has anyone you know, applied to naturalize after having homeschooled your children in Switzerland?
That was my take on it as well and couldn’t see how that could be construed as a personal attack.
Are you?
Personal attacks. OK, if you need it:

OK, I fell for it. That is exactly the kind of answer a troll is looking for. Sorry, I’m ignorant… best would be to ignore, checking for a forum function that does that…
OK, found it. Klick on the user, than “ignore”. Goodbye troll…
It is a very good function, appears to block even quotes from that user.
Kids have to learn to live in the real world, not the carefully filtered world you make up!
Childhood is the time for learn how to deal with the real world and society is more forgiving of kids and young adults than the are of adults who have not figured it out. By denying kids this opportunity you seriously disadvantage them for life.
Home schooling may make the parents feel good and in control, but from my point of view it is a form of child abuse because kids are not learning how to deal with life, which is the prime purpose of childhood.
I think abuse is not really the word that’s correct here - people get abused in shcools all the time, yet we don’t deny them their right to school.
But I do agree that it doesn’t really make sense to school your kid at home, if you just want to follow the school curriculum. The advantage I see is that you can acoomplish that with much less time invested than a school does.
Well school hours are quite limited so you can easily supplement school with additional hours.
(just for others who can actually read and don’t want to exist in an echo chamber)
I mean it is absolutely crazy to tell someone he’s racists, when the person himself is a) a second generation immigrant, b) constantly makes a deliberate effort that cultrure (and not race!) is at their forefront of argumentation…
I think you have a problem with a democratic and open debate and not being able to tolerate other opinions surely isn’t a sign of being well adjusted.
I respect your opinion, you see it differently, no big deal ![]()
Sometimes people incorrectly use the word ‘racist’ when the less specific ‘bigoted’ is more fitting.
Oh no, I wasn’t suggesting that at all, but in our experience the schools have been refreshingly free of woke issues being pushed. Maybe we’ve just been lucky though.
I don’t really think that I am fitting the definition of that word, but even if: A matter of fact is that politics is an attempt to regulatory categorize and subsidize (or punish) certain behavior. On order to do that a certain level of generalization is inevitable - no one would argue that the human rights don’t apply for people of a different race, because “it generalizes all humans”.
However, when we talk about certain policies, we should absolutely and very broadly generalize and play to the statistic nature of emotional topics. Every individual is of course entitled to be judged based on their actions alone - that doesn’t change the fact that statistical phenomena can be observed and politically acted upon.
I live in rural AG… before we go woke, we’d go SVP I guess… both not very desirable, but I definitely prefer the later…
I know it’s words, some of them English words even, spellckecker or no spellchecker, but …
In what way or form is this contributing to the discussion?
I doubt that you or rural AG are in danger of going woke. Mind you, the groundwater does pass through some highly questionable territory, so you might like to consider getting a suitable filtration system.
