Will be coming to Zurich next month for an interview in Opfikon. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel for the night?

If its your own money, stay at the IBIS or ETAP chain hotel at Hardbrücke, which is near the railway station Hardbrücke between Opfikon and the City. Cheap , clean and cheerful.

As for paying for the trip: Agency or UBS should cough up, cheeky blighters
The IBIS in Zürich Oerlikon (near Messe) is much closer to Opfikon.

There is also a Novotel in Opfikon, a bit higher priced.

I'm not paying but compared to the price of hotels here in the Netherlands, hotels in ZH looked expensive. It's only for one night so I was just looking for somewhere quiet (I'm a light sleeper), close by to Opfikon and with a reasonable comfort vs price ratio.
Opfikon is next to the airport - may not be as quiet as you hoped
