How can I send photos from an iPhone to an e-mail address?

I tried:

1. Using Mail - I selected the photos, then emailed them to myself. The message gets sent, but it never arrives.

2. Using Airdrop - It worked from a friend's computer, but with my computer, the pairing keeps failing.

I want to be able to send photos and other files back and forth. The only one that worked was an app via a website, but I don't want to use that, I'd like to use the simpler methods.

Help, please!

Cheers,

F

If you cannot get air drop working... use the cable?

As suggested, try a cable.

Itunes could help as well?

Alternately download one of the WiFi transfer Apps which allow you to transfer data over the air.

Maybe email size limitation on your account? Try sending one at low resolution to test it.

Or maybe you have some sort of filter / spam block.

Alternative - if your phone is connected to an email account you can access where you need the photos, just create the email and save it as a draft, then get the draft from the other machine.

Thanks for the suggestion, you two. How could I have skipped this OBVIOUS method?

However, why does it not work????

Don't know. Windows 10 and Mac OS X work pretty well for me with the cable... Windows 8 was a bit less reliable. What do you have? (And did you click yes on all the pop ups both on the phone and the PC?)

Apple products.

Then there is really nothing to do but to put the cable into both devices... the photos app should pop up and ask you if you want to import everything...

I wanted to quickly send a few photos without having to use the cable. It bugs me that neither airdrop nor the mailing option (within the sharing pop-up options) work.

Ouch! A first world problem!!!!! I don't want to have to use the cable every time I send a file.

Thanks, all! I appreciate your help.

Cheers!

Open photos on your phone

Tap a photo so the options appear at the bottom

Select the bottom left one (Box with upwards arrow inside it)

Select MAIL and then enter your email address, a subject and send.

It may ask you to choose S, M L or actual size before sending, I always choose Medium.

Am I missing something, it really is that straightforward.

I guess the one last key question is, do you have an email address set up on your phone?

That would solve size issues if they're the cause (could well be given this is about photos) so the first try should be "S".

and if internet is enabled for email to be sent.

Check the email outbox folder as well. Maybe the email has not been sent at all.

Try Simple Transfer pro app.

Photosync is an iOS app I've used and found very useful when transferring between multiple Apple devices. I'm not sure how it compares to Simple Transfer Pro. That may work just as well.

There are a lot of variables for email problems. One of the first I'd look at is a size limitation from your email provider.

there's your problem...

Could have been a conflict of addresses, so I erased all them, then added only one, and now emailing photos via the steps outlined by Big Mac (yes, did try these before, and it does look straightforward ) works; and yes, the messages were stuck in the outbox and didn't check . I trusted that whoosh! sound too much. Many thanks again for the support!!!

...but Airdrop still doesn't work. The pairing keeps failing.
