I've been in my sublet for only a month and one of the exterior metal blinds is broken in the down position. It seems like one of the cords that pulls the blind up has come off its track (so one side goes up and the other does not). Any tips on how fix the blind? Does anyone know what it is called in German so I can google fixes? Do I need to hire someone to fix it? I imagine there was wear and tear on the item before I moved in (I've only used it a few times) and want to avoid having to purchase new blinds for the window.
You can call your landlord or one of these companies for a repair: many branches of Schenker there,

Exterior metal blinds are not your financial responsibility, I had the same problem. The landlord is responsible. Good luck!

If you were negligent, then you may be considered responsible. Metal blinds need to be repaired by a specialist and this is something the landlord should organize.
