How to hang a ceiling light

Hi.

Hanging lights is a little different here than back in the United states. I have installed many lights in the past and have done a ton of electrical work in the past, so none of this is new to me.

I have a pendant light that I need to install. It looks like the light hangs from a hook in the junction box. Upon closer inspection, I do not have a hook in the box, but instead a small screw. Do I need to remove this screw and replace it with a hook? If so, what should I ask for at the store?

Thanks!

You can replace the screw with a hook, or use a Lampenkralle

This screw is there because there was a plastic cover to cover the junction box and make it less visual .

The best way is to get a new hook and install in the same hole .

If you are not able to mach the hole from the screw it will a bit difficult to place the hook .

This junction box is done from a plastic integrated in the concrete during the building of the apartment .

When you are in the hardware shop i have to look for a hook which is longer because it will have to stick of the box otherwise it will be a bit difficult to install a lamp .

And as aways it depends what type of lamp you would like to install.

And because there are some paint on the cable you have to make sure they are clean in front and making a proper contact with the lamp.

Good luck .
