A friend of my OH in the UK is a hi fi fan and something that he has been looking at for years has come up for sale.
He asked me to help him him make contact but to no avail - we have gone on the french version and pressed the button to connect where it asks you for an email address which he put in. Underneath it says if you don't have an account to sign up.
My question is - is it necessary to sign up for an account if you just want to buy anything? I have warned him that sometimes on Anibis there could be scams so not to sent any cash - the item is collect only and the seller is not new.
Can you even buy from another country?
I said I have no idea but I know that there are several hundred on here who will know!!
Some sellers just take ages to reply, and some don't take the trouble to delete their ads even when the item is sold. You could try:
put in a Swiss mail address instead of one from abroad (you can make a new mail address which you use for only this) register with Anibis, whether from abroad (don't know if this works) or from within Switzerland, and then try again to contact the seller check whether the seller has given a phone number check whether the seller is also selling other items, and try to contact them through one of those ads if the seller sells many items, see whether you can identify the same seller on tutti or on ricardo (on both of which you do, indeed, have to be a member, to contact the seller) write to Anibis support (from where you may or may not get a response) to ask what next to do create an ad searching for exactly that item, as that may catch the attention of the seller check how old the ad is; it might be obsolete.
Unfortunately I have been at receiving end of a scam on Anibis despite having done what I thought was sufficient due diligence on the seller. Money paid but seller has vanished with CHF 87.-
This would be frustrating enough but I am also unable to contact Anibis. Messages sent to them via their website (section: Contact Us) are bouncing back instantly.
Any suggestions on how to contact Anibis alternatively ?
