How to pay SBB online with Reka-Card

Hi all,

I've tried following the SBB guidelines to add my Reka-Card as a valid payment method in the online ticket shop, but I cannot for the life of me find it in the drop down menu, which looks like this:

Mastercard

Visa

Amex

Diners

Post Finance

MyOne

No Reka option anywhere...anyone managed to do this yet?

So to answer my own query, it seems you cannot add it as a permanent payment method, but if you select your tickets, add to basket, then check out, at the payment stage, you can select "Reka Card".

All's well that ends well!

I also wondered the same when using the app. It seems you can't add a REKA card in the app, but you have to pay directly on the website

Option now seems to have disappeared again...sigh. Back to the Schalter tomorrow then...

I never worked out how to do this and always go in person at HB, wait in line and pay with the card there

I asked SBB and this is their response... Patience.

From spring 2018 onwards you will presumably be able to pay with the new Reka-Card under sbb.ch .

Until then you may purchase your tickets with the new Reka-Card at the ticket counter or at a ticket machine.

REKA took much longer to reply. They blame SBB for the issue (website changes, and I guess on the phone App too), and claim they are working on developing a fix which they hope will be ready in February.

Hi,

We recieved in the company an advantage with the reka card. If you register there and put 800CHF in it, you get 1000CHF (200CHF free)

So I thought I could put the money for the GA in this card, and pay with it this year. So I would save 200CHF.

Is it possible or it doesn't make sense?

I think that REka is just a credit card that only works in Switzerland.

I always used the Reka Card to pay for my yearly GA Travelcard or any kind of ticket. I always did it online on SBB.ch, Ticket shop.

The first time I couldn't find payment with Reka Card but I was helped by the ZVV Kundendienst staff at the main station.

"When you order your new travelcard using an order form, you can choose whether to pay by invoice and payment slip or by credit card. Alternatively, you can order your travelcard at SBB.ch and pay online using a PostFinance debit card, a credit card or Reka Card. If you would like face-to-face advice, visit a point of sale, where you can pay by all the usual methods"

As I am currently in Australia I left my Reka Card with a friend who just used it to buy a ticket. Payment with Reka Card is working again.

Thanks for the info.

The problem is that I already have GA, so I have to pay the renew in a month or so and I got per mail only the option to pay with transfer (orange bill). I will as on monday.

I even know what company that is, I will have the same soon. But it doesn't look like a great deal to me, just a 20% discount, and limited to 1000CHF... And if you buy a yearly pass to commute from ZH to Baden, for example, that's it.

It still ain't ready - just tried buying tickets online with them now...
