How to sell British (RHD) car?

Hello All,

Newbie here. I have recently moved to Switzerland and brought my UK car with me, at least to have while we settled in. But now I have decided to sell that car. Presumably I need to take it back to England (who here would buy a RHD car with UK number plates, in other words!).

Question is, can anybody recommend the best way to sell a car in the UK...when you don't live in the UK anymore? I can drive the car back, but I don't really fancy hanging around the UK for a week while I wait for people to respond to an AutoTrader ad!

BTW it is an 06 Reg Mercedes E class with 95k miles or so. Just in case anybody here is moving back and needs a car!

Unless there is someone in the UK who can sell it for you (e.g. parents/relatives?) just put it in an auction.

I sold my British car on Ebay UK and offered to pay the flight and ferry tickets back to whoever came to collect. A lot of people were quite interested in a long weekend in Switzerland and I got quite a few messages asking for further details. In the end the person who won the auction wasn't able to collect, so I drove it back and she collected from London.
