How do I set up an account at the Schlichtungsbehörde ?
This page doesn't seem clarify what the steps are:
landlord has failed to fix an old appliance MV consultant told me the landlord should fix it and told me I could write a letter stating that the rent will be paid into an escrow account (Schlichtungsbehörde) if not fixed by a given date letter sent and landlord has failed to respond by the date
As you were in contact with Mieterverband you hopefully followed all the necessary formalities.
-Stated what has to be fixed.
-By when it has to be fixed (exact date)
-That you will put part of the rent in escrow if not fixed.
-All sent using registered mail.
- Made copy of the post receipt (as that shit is printed on thermo paper which can fade or go black.)
-Checked that letter was received.
Next step:
You might once again remind the landlord by registered letter that the issue was not fixed in good time and that now will put the rent or part of it into the rental courts escrow account. This is just to be sure you did all the needed formalities.
Fill in this form and submit it to the rental court with all need evidence

You might get in contact with the rental court and use its free adivce.
Pay into the escrow account. You will get the needed details from the rental court. This might have to be done at court in person.
Once done you must send a registered letter that part of the rent has been paid into the rental court escrow account. it looks like you must do this every month.
Further step:
Start actual court procedure no more than 30 days after you paid the rent into the escrow account.
