HP Sauce?

Hello.....I'm the gardening 'Nain' based in Thonon Les Bains no DIY help or garden too small to look at between Evian and Geneva....New to the forum hope you are all well......PS Where can I get some HP Sauce?

At Coop.

Hi, I'm in Fribourg and my COOP doesn't have HP Brown sauce

I can get Lea & Perrins and Coleman Mustard at Manor, Banston pickle, mushy peas and marmalade at COOP, I can get Heinz anything, but no brown sauce anywhere.

This has a serious impact on proper bacon sandwich production!

Any help appreciated otherwise it's britshop at CHF 7.50 a pop.

They used to have HP sauce in COOP but they stopped selling it a while ago along with cream crackers, Newcastle brown ale and a few other things.

Hubby gets his HP sauce in France now ( I can't stand it personally) where it's cheaper than britshop but he has also resorted to buying from britshop on occasions.

Admittedly they haven't got HP as it seems...but they have a big big selection of other sauces.

I just discovered this on line shop today on my search for liquid smoke and ordered a bottle of Stubbs Hickory.

Maybe, you find an alternative product to the HP brand here

www.sauces.ch

They have it at the SuperU in Vinzier and both Intermarchés in Morzine and La Chapelle d'Abondance. Look on the special end units of US\UK specialty foods in all 3 of these stores.

Are you completely mad?

That's like suggesting an alternative to CDM or Marmite[1]. If you can even think it's a possibility you clearly don't understand it.

@OP Try Otto's. They often have some of the variations of basic HP, like Smoky BBQ, Spicy Woodsmoke etc., and on occasion I think I've managed to find the real thing there, although not recently.

[1] Foul stuff, but I can understand why nothing else could be quite the same

Yup, very likely.

Geant in St. Louis for anyone Basel(ish) based has some in the foreign section. As well as Oat cakes, poncey crisps, Irn Bru (inexplicably) and some (to me now) really poor chocolate.

There's a bookshop in Basel too (forget the name) big English language section and a selection of genuinely amazingly priced gear (not in a good way).

Bought a load of twiglets, Ribena and Saxo stuffing anyway of course.

That would be Bider & Tanner, Aeschenvorstadt 2

Orseilli Fusicilli bookshop in Zurich I know sells a lot of ex pat type food but very expensive so beware
