John Titus' new production deals with the corruptive power held by the Bank of International Settlements and its agents. Its title is "All The Plenary's Men" and it was released yesterday.
When I heard statements like 'corruptive power held by the Bank of International Settlements' it suggests to me that he is like that other loon how got all upset because he could not open an account at the BIS! In other words someone living of the backs of the gullible.
For me his credibility lies in his work that one can see on his YouTube channel
Just 'cause you hear something you agree with does not make it credible. A reference to a bio, detailed factual analysis, standing among his peers, peer reviewed research etc... bring credibility.
I would not look for formal stuff (terminology, channel..) when considering a message.
There are a lot of good books with no illustrations, you know.
Fake is a funny word. So popular now, exaggerated. I don't care for fake...I don't think there are smart/not smart people. But I see a lot of lazy strategies when avoiding discomfort.
And yes the channel, the terminology etc.. do count in helping you determine the reliability of the information being presented. A presenter who has had papers published is peer reviewed academic journals is more credible that some Joe Blogs who's resume is not even to be found in Google and so on.
On his youtube profile, he claims that mainstream media are without exception propaganda, but he of course is untouched by this blight and will present only facts. He doesn't provide any evidence for these bold claims, but let's ignore that for now. He doesn't provide any more information about himself, or why his message should be believed. He doesn't even provide his own name.
Googling him was difficult, he doesn't have any published papers, research or studies. After some more googling I found his LinkedIn page, where it turns out he has no background in anything related to finance or economics. He is an electrical engineer and lawyer. He has never worked in finance. Or any field related to economics. I do not judge based on education, but it would help make the case for someone making such bold claims. He throws around big words on his profile, about having co-authored papers about labor force participation dynamics and similar material, but then doesn't provide any links. I googled this too, and the single paper hosted by a credible institution doesn't mention him in any capacity. I'm also led back to one of his videos where he is announcing with great fanfare the conspiracy of the labor force participation rate falling, and how the media are spinning the fact that unemployment is falling. Note, anyone even remotely involved with finance knows about this fact since I can remember. Curiously, the article linking to his video on this topic forecasts a new housing crisis in the US and proposes a short sell with a ROI of 60% over the next 6-12 months. You just have to buy their research report to access the details of the trade idea. Luckily for us, the article was published in 2014, so we can say with confidence that their short sell idea was rubbish and would have lost money (as do almost all of these ideas and sites). They hopefully ignored their own advice and invested the money from whatever dummy paid for their research to something sensible. Like beer.
Moving on, he claims to have made a single documentary about the 2008 crisis, which according to his description is an "award-winning feature length documentary about the causes of the Global Financial Crisis and the 2008 TARP bailout". He doesn't mention what sort of awards has it won, and it is impossible to find anything on google either. The movie can be rented on amazon where it has a grand total of 7 reviews and John Titus is credited in a support role. Googling the movie itself will lead to sites where John Titus advertises his own movie. It isn't quoted or linked by any research, study or credible institution. John Titus would probably claim that this is because there is a conspiracy against him and the mainstream media wants to suppress the truth that he in is great wisdom uncovered. The movie has a very respectable score on IMDB, but alas it was rated by a total of 36 people, which could very well be the entirety of the cast and production.
So let's recap:
- Has no background or experience with the subject matter
- Has no published research, studies or peer reviewed articles on the subject matter
- Has almost no presence on the internet, and none at all with any institution or publishing outlet that is related to the subject matter. Actually, he has no relationship with any credible institution at all.
- Bold claims about having discovered big conspiracies that somehow nobody else knows about and/or deliberately not being reported by mainstream media.
Yeah, it was entertaining but I'll pass.
Nonsense! If you have seen the work of someone one can form an opinion about his credibility. One of the posters asked me regarding his Bio / credibility. I answered him as best I could since I have no further info. on him.
Regarding "standing among his peers" are you referring to other YouTubers? My suggestion to you is to try to get back to planet Earth.
I realise that not many people are interested in finance and allegations of corruption coming from alternative sites although I found the details contained in the video were very well sourced. Apart from giving others the opportunity to see the video I was possibly hoping for anyone who was well informed on the issues dealt with to give a critique regarding the allegations and the validity of the source material. That apparently is not the case.
BTW as a former forensic accountant I am interested in the topic, but not this kind of nonsense.
