Hi, I am an international exchange student to Switzerland. I haven’t registered for an insurance which now has passed 3 months deadline. I applied for a permit and now they are saying I need to send them an email about my status. Can I still now apply for swisscare for international student? I don’t know what to do now. Write to swisscare ASAP and apply with insurance back-dated to when you came to Switzerland. You want to avoid your Gemeinde from registering you with an alternative and more expensive health insurance, which they will do if you tell them that you have no insurance (which will be back-dated to when you arrived in Switzerland).
