I recently fell off my bike but somehow managed to avoid my face, only knackering my hand and knee.
Still hurts there and am wondering if I should really visit the doc maybe........
Get well soon!!

You were one of the first to welcome me here on the forum and just wanted to say that I'm really sorry to hear about your fall.
As some forum members have already pointed out, falling on one's face is one of the most traumatising things to happen. I once did a somersault but panicked at the last minute, didn't move my arms from the gym apparatus quick enough and landed on my chin. I stood up thinking that I was okay, next thing I knew I was having nine stitches in A&E. The swelling was bad and I had to endure all the jokes at school.
One thing I can recommend is 'Bio oil'; you can buy it at Boots the Chemists. It was only recommended to me quite recently and I have to say it works like a treat on scars, even old ones like mine!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Good news is that I found that the human body tends to recover fairly well, even if it looks pretty bad in the first hours / days it tends to improve quickly. Some 6 months after the glass door incident I could barely see any trace when looking in the mirror.
Good luck with your recovery.
A.
That sounds horrid, and I advice you to try and prevent it from further swelling..maybe there are some special pomades at the Pharmacy you can use and also I would check up with a specialist the nose..you don't want to end up with breathing problems...and try not to feel too bad...everyone of us has gone through similar situations at least one time in our lives, so we can relate (I for once, fell down a some sort of pole and fainted because I hit my head...I now have a head scar );
Get well soon!
You may not look so good, but sexy .
Recover soon!
About four years ago a friend ran over my foot with his BMW. Not a very happy patsycat...
Accidents happen. And I seem to receive them. Walking into things that jump out in front of me, falling out of buses, tripping on cobble stones etc.
And that's when i'm sober!!! A friend bought me a bottle of Glenmorangie for my 40th birthday - I fell over and landed on it and cracked four ribs.
Welcome to the club.
The mental ones... well, who can say?
I wouldn't recommend reading funny posts on EF though: your lip will hurt like hell when you laugh!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
