I need an electronic mini-whisk for salad sauces... can you use a milk frother?

Is that a secret code to say you need a whip??

I would lend you an expensive electronic rotating toothbrush to whisk the sauce, but unfortunately, I never received mine

I use the basic Bodum 2 AA battery frother thing for salad dressing all the time. It's awesome. Stick in a cup of hot soapy water and buzz to clean.

Try the sauce in a empty jam jar... Close the lid and shake. Works wonder.

Cheap trick!

I have a Bodum one that was sold as a salad dressing whisk - I know this because it came in a gift box with a salad bowl and a salad dressing glass jug with stopper.

I only use it to froth milk.

Ok thanks guys I shall buy a cheap milk frother to test it then report back on my hopeful salad-mixing success. Failing that, I shall shake it like a boss.

Something like this might fit your needs too, depending on the quantity of dressing you're making:

Or this (requires manual shaking but has the little whisk ball to help):

I have one of those somewhere and never use it. Happy to give it to a more appreciative home?

I'll add that the cheap little Bodum mixer has been accidentally soaked (fully immersed) in the sink several times and just popped open and skaken out and still goes strong.

We have a shaker for dressing that Cook2 uses but as Dishwasher Supreme I dislike it. It's a proper thing with a spout and all but when it's time to clean just opening it up to go in the dishwasher gets you oily hands and that's gross.

Well, in the end I bought a milk frother as seen here (doesn't deliver to CH so had it delivered to family in the UK)... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Works perfectly fine as a salad and sauce stirrer for small quantities, and any similar milk frother purchased locally in CH should also do the job.

I got my frother from Interdiscount for making frappes in Summer.

LOL

Interesting. Always good to have a back up.

LOL you found a cheap plastic milk frother? OMGLOL.

Yeah, nothing like your £10.77 stainless steel one. Your salad sauce will be something else. Too bad it works with batteries, imagine it with a great big fat double-plug.

Great entertainment, thanks.

If I want to buy something, I buy one that I like. A stainless steel one will last longer than a cheap plastic jobbie and it came with two head attachments (one single one double for larger amounts). If you can't understand why someone would want to spend a measly 5chf extra on something that will last them 2x longer than said cheap plastic jobbie then I guess you really must not be very bright, or the worlds biggest skinflint. Or both.

You need a Stabmixer (stick blender) and a tall cup.

Already have one chap, great for soups, but way overkill for a small portion of salad sauce.
