As per title, I need a small whisk, preferably electronic, to mix small amounts of home made salad sauce in a cup. I have struggled to find anything online except milk frothers... can anyone please tell me if these will do the job?
Faced with a problem like that, a lesser person would simply give up and tip the contents of the cup down the sink, get a tin of beer out the fridge, and order a home delivered pizza.
Some are probably powerful enough. I have a very inexpensive bodum model, one speed. Might not be enough. It depends on how thick your mixture is. Look for ones with two speeds ....we used to have one by Roesele, all stainless, two speed, could beat an egg (not quite an egg white though). Alternatively, a small whisk.
We find that just putting it into a small bottle or jar and shaking it up works perfectly well - the idea of using an electric tool of any sort had never occured to me.
For such small quantities I use a whisk - but instead of holding it in one hand, I rub my hands together with the handle of the whisk between the palms. (The little one bought for daughters in a children's cooking set works quite well).I've whipped cream like that too.
I could make you a stainless whisk if you want, what size collet does your die grinder take?
On a more serious note... If you can find a small PET container which is about 25% larger than the portion size you're set. Put a few 8mm ball bearings inside and shake a few times.
You don't like steel in your salad?... That's what rare earth magnets are for.
Thanks rog I have similar but it's not really a quick and dirty daily convenience tool.
Ee by gum...
Ahhhhhh so simple! Yes I could indeed do that and I just searched for some good shakers online that get great reviews. Thanks Ace, just the kind of inspiration I was looking for if I need to do it manually.
And the Lead Acetate evolved will sweeten the dressing!
Not to mention poison RD, and be a bother to keep in the bottle.
Being a dog, it's important that RD can safely lick his balls clean when he's done.
(And, the balls don't need to be that heavy, they just need to be denser than the substance being mixed... marbles would do, but they (like lead) are non magnetic.)
