Ikea chair (Pello sessel) with no cover - what can I do to fix it?

I bought this armchair some time ago:

I don't like the cover any more, the color and quality of fabrics is not the best and recently I dropped some food on it and the stain doesn't go off so I took it of and washed it but it looks even worse now.

I know it is not possible to replace this cover as they don't have single covers for this chair in Ikea but I would like to keep the chair if possible.

The only thing I can think of now is to throw the chair away and get another one with new "bezug" but getting rid of something I bought recently is not what I want to do. It is a pity they don't have replacement covers in Ikea.

Any ideas?

Hi Izabela,

You should check out this website: http://www.bemz.com/en-gb/ .

This company makes covers for almost all IKEA sofas, chairs and the like.

You choose the model and the fabric and they make a new cover.

Do you sew?

From the picture it looks like making a new cover would be quite simple - just use the existing cushion as a pattern.

However... be aware that quality fabric is expensive in Switzerland (and designs to my taste somewhat hard to come by). So the question is: how much are you willing to spend on a new cover, versus the cost of a new chair?

Thanks for the idea. I don't sew but I will be happy to pay someone who can

Anyone would like to try?
