Why are they made to be 3m when the standard height of an apartment is 2.4m-ish?!??!?
Because rather a lot of older appartments and houses have top-of-window or ceiling heights that are 2.70 metres or more! IKEA curtains won't fit my younger son's place for example, his ceilings are 3.10.
If they're too long and you can't sew then you can buy iron-on tape to re-hem them;IKEA often supply it in the curtains pack, and Coop, Migros, Manor all sell it.
Actually I have managed to sew 2 pairs of curtains for shorter windows from one Ikea curtain.

They do. It is extra service though and for labour cost being high in CH I believe many people do it themselves.
When I purchased wardrobes their quote for assembly was half the price of the actual furniture. (Plus pretty substantial wait).
Try the Obi store at Mparc. We bought some there as they were 2.45m length. We looked at Ikea last Saturday and left a teeny bit frustrated at the curtain length.
Please be aware: most of them shrink, so the extra length comes in handy after a few washes
And the iron on-tape may come off.
