I’m wondering, if you were here pre-Brexit as a UK national with a C permit and have ‘acquired rights’ due to being employed here pre-Brexit but then lose your job, what are the implications? Can you still stay in Switzerland? Do you need to change your permit some how?
The way I see it you can be from Mars if you have a C. You stay.
More interesting would be how the situation was for B-premit holders who came here on Schengen grounds.
Agree. C permit is for permanent residency.
However under limited circumstances a C permit can be revoked and replaced with a B. For example:
- Long-term and significant dependency on social assistance
- Absence from Switzerland
- Criminal offenses
- False declarations or fraud
- Threat to public safety or national security
- Non-compliance with permit conditions or integration agreement
- Not meeting integration requirements

We know that. But Brexit was not a reason.
Just turning into coming from a third country does affect C-permit.
