Importing an e-bike from EU - Isn't the VAT + taxes are too high?

I have imported an ebike from Spain to Lugano, which costs EUR 1569. At the beginning I was thinking the bike was cheap and the customs and the VAT will cost 10% or 20% max. But then I have received 2 extra invoices from the Post AG and from the Transport Company (which actually delivered me the bike):

Post AG sends me a Sdoganamento + VAT of CHF 189
And the Transport company sends me another CHF 246 of some other bla bla

Don’t you think these VAT and the taxes are a bit too much? I have paid nearly %27 of the price of the bike to the customs and VAT and sounds like there is a mistake in the invoices.

Anybody has any information or advice about these procedures?

I think you put the same image twice.

I don’t know why you would get 2 bills. I normally get a bill solely from the company delivering the item, be that Swisspost or someone like DHL etc.

Yes looks like transport company didn’t do import or did it incorrectly, so you get two times VAT invoices, normally should be one.

I would have shipped it to a PO Box across the border in Italy and used it for a weekend before riding it home as a personal effect. You can always handle the tax formalities yourself at the border so you don’t have the same nasty surprises as you sometimes get with courier companies. Sometimes its worth it as Swiss tax is lower, but if they use Global Blue etc… then its about the same and not worth the hassle.

Seems like you are being charged twice on the VAT. You should tell your transport company and get them to take that off the bill. The rest seem their costs for doing the paperwork etc - which is also charged from the post so could try to challenge but may be harder if they did stuff incorrectly.

Do you know anybody who can call and ask for advice?

I contacted with Post AG and they say it is a misunderstanding that the sender provides them a wrong invoice. There were two parcels, and their invoices creates confusion. They say they will pay me back.
