I did pay the French VAT so if I could claim it back and pay the Swiss I'm Ok with that. It's only 3 items, which may be with other household goods or coming over on their own. (not sure if they will deliver or if I need to drive them over 1 at a time from a friend in France)
If they can't do that, you'll have a hard time getting back the VAT I'm afraid.
Probably should have told them up-front about the things going to Switzerland...
In any case: Swiss customs will be quick to charge Swiss VAT, regardless ;-)
Before you get to high on the horse you should know it wasn't 100% I was moving that side of the border when I ordered the items months ago
I still need to see if they can deliver there or if they only go as far as France.
Or are these unique, hand-made pieces from an ébéniste ?
If you won't get VAT back, you could try covering them in dust and claiming them to be ebay-purchases at the border, with no receipt and little value....
;-)
How much money are we talking about, anyway?
I actually just exported a display and going to birng it back, I guess I need to keep the swiss receipt, I just had to drag it back as I dont have the flat yet
Of course when I wanted to export something I needed a stamp to get the Swiss VAT back last year, but there was no one to be found.
