Indian Embassy - Power of Attorney - Witnesses required

Hello Experts,

I need to get a Power of Attorney done from the Indian Embassy in order to apply for a housing loan in India.

I have tried to do my research and here is what i have till now

Step 1: I have printed the content of the PoA (as required by the bank) on a plain A4 sheet.

Step 2: I need to visit the bank and pay 38 CHF to UBS AG, BERN Account No.235-939899.01P

Step 3: I need to visit the embassy between 9:30 and 12:30 (mon-fri). I need to take originals and copies of my passport, visa and photographs

Issue:

My PoA requires two witnesses to sign along with me. Embassy has told me that witnesses need to bring originals and copies of passport and permit. I am based in basel and dont know a lot of folks so asking someone to accompany me to the embassy on a working day seems rather difficult.

An ideas on what can be done here would help. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Rohan

good luck rohan.

do you need fellow indians or can you invite other nationalities?

@MidfieldGeneral, Thanks. I dont think that the witnesses need to be of a particular nationality. As long as they have a valid identity proof (Passport, Permit/VISA(if any) and two passport size photographs), it should work.

I forgot to mention earlier that the Indian embassy is in BERN.

Hi Rohan

Are you through with the process.

How was your experience?

I will gng there soon for the same purpose.

Thanks

Amit
