Welcome to Basel Surendra! I came here two years ago. For the first three months I felt completely confused -- there are a lot of rules, forms to fill out and challenges finding an apartment. Your employer should help with these in the beginning. One thing you should definitely try is swimming (floating) in the Rhine once the weather is better. It is one of my favorite things to do here.
