Indians in Muttenz and Schooling

I am planning to move to muttenz, any one knows if some Indian family also lives in muttenz. secondly I wish to know about schools in muttenz. My both son (7 and 14 years) will join public schools their.

The 14 year old may struggle a lot if going into a public school without speaking a Swiss language. Could you possibly use an international school instead? The 7 year old shouldn’t have a problem.

My daughter was 13 when she made the move from IS Berne to local (French) school in Fribourg. It needed a lot of extra effort (read private tuitions), but she got there, moved to the pre-gym stream from the general stream, went through college, and is at Uni now.

It is doable - and totally worth it!!!

She just said she was moving to Muttenz and did not say that the children dont speak german.

My Kids are born and raised in Germany so they peak hochdeutch like a native German, I am n ot sure how different and hard for my Kids would be toadapt swiss german in school

After Kindergarten, Hochdeutsch is the language of education in the German-speaking parts.

Swiss German will come very quickly when they start school here. It's not essential for learning as the lessons are all in standard German. Dialect will be picked up during break time, sports lessons and meeting up with friends after school.

Absolutely no problem

i have another query, how about kids (14 years and 7 years) outdoor activities. I am looking family friendly areas, so kids could enjoy real fun life.

There are Indian families in all of the Basel conurbation. You'd have to go to a tiny village way out to have none at all. Muttenz is a nice town.

What do you mean "outdoor activities"? That could be anything.

I mnean, if Muttenz have some sport clubs (e.g football, tennis) and / or public parks or space. Would be nice to know if someone knows a indian / pakistani family living in Muttenz.

Yes Muttenz had sport clubs. Most communities do. Yes it has plenty of public space.

Indian or Pakistani? Aren't India and Pakistan rather hostile to each other?

That's the governments more.

Some families have members on both sides of the border.

If I read your text correctly you are looking for a sports club specific with indian members?

It seems like we have something like an indian cricket team in or small village, I'm sure that close to basel there will be some, too.

Maybe this man could advise you:

Basel Cricket Club (Singh Jitheswar). Therwilerstrasse 31. 4153 Reinach [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) .

Disclaimer: I don't know him. I googled "Muttenz" and "Cricket".

Cricket club in muttenz, it is really impressive.
