Indonesian intern cannot stay in Switzerland after internship

Hi all,

I would need some advise regarding a colleague of mine.

He's an 25yo intern from Idonesia who is doing a 3 years master in an university in Germany and he's doing his 1 year internship the office I work.

The internship will expire in July and after that he would present is final thesis.

We would like to confirm him after that, the HR already got in touch with the responsible office of immigration but apparently since he is not from Europe, he needs minimum 3 years of professional experience to get a working visa.

Does anyone had a similar experience, or can indicate any solution for such situation?

As he did not graduate from a Swiss university, the regular rules for non EU will apply.

Solution: apply for a permit and tell them that he is the only one who can do the job (and have proof of that). Maybe then you have a chance.
