Indoor tennis courts in Zurich

Hi! I checked previous posts but I didn't really find good tips about indoor tennis courts open to public in Zurich. The sport center http://www.vitis.ch/ looks good but is in Schlieren, I would still prefer a place in town.

http://portal.asvz.ethz.ch/sportange...n/Tennis.aspx/ would be cheap but I am not sure I can register to the ASVZ as ex student of the University in Rome 14 years ago...

So, any tips about indoor courts in Zurich?

Does anybody know if you can invite friends at the ASVZ tennis courts (if you are member obviously)?

Thank's

Only tip, I can give you is, if you want to cut down on price is either use the courts early mornings, late nights or buy a seasonal Fixplatz card. There are plenty of sports centers with indoor courts facilities. e.g. in Stettbach, Uster. Just google for sport centers in Zurich and there should be quite a few options e.g. http://www.tscs.ch/ , http://www.sfcs.ch/ , http://www.blueshuttle.ch/ , http://www.lengg.ch/ and so on and so forth.

More info in German can be found here: http://www.zuerichtennis.ch/clubs-centers/centers

Jacek, thank you for the very good tips.

You are welcome. If you have any further questions just drop me PM

Hi! I ́ve been reading your posts and would like to go one step further and ask if you know where to find Amateur tennis tournaments.

I mean, do you know how tennis competition is organized? is it only availabe for members of a tennis club or are there private/independent tournaments?

What is the alternative for someone like me who wants to train three/four days p/week and compete one/two days p/week?

Anything you can comment on this will be greatly appreciated since I ́m moving to Zurich on July to live there permanently.

Thanks!!!

Hi, they're good ones in langnau am albis and schlieren, but they're not cheap. You find them on google. goodluck!

the indoor tennis season is coming to an end (yay !), but i've always played at the courts at lengg seefeld (bleulerstrasse 41, 8008). they have hard courts and sand, and even a few more sets of courts down the road. it's about chf 50 for an hour, depending on what time you play. http://www.lengg.ch/

I'd recommend the Tennis and Squash Center Sihltal http://www.tscs.ch/ . They have indoor Rebound Ace courts (which is very rare in Switzerland). But they're a little bit pricey. Plus they have a lot of english speaking staff (and coaches...). You should travel by car though if you plan to go.

But it's spring now and lots of outdoor clubs are opening. I think there are some clay courts at Zürich Wollishofen at the lake which are pretty cheap to rent.

Still enjoying the very good weather for tennis outdoor but also start to plan the winter season. Does anybody know any club offering discounts for booking multiple hours indoor? I heard about the fixplatz but I couldn't find yet any details about it. Is it then required to play every week at the same time? Ideally I would like to pay something like 10 hours in advance but then have the flexibility to decide if I want to play duering the week or weekend (or at least different time during the weekend).

Thank you for the replies.

Lorenzo

Just played today for one hour at Grindel in Basserdorf (close to the airport).

Good courts but quite expensive: 50 fr per hour on Sunday 9:00 - 17:00.

Down to 40 Fr on Sunday 17:00 - 23:00.

59 Fr during the week!

Has anyone found a cheaper place to play indoor during the winter season?
