We’re looking into either ICS or ZIS for 10th grade. We’ll be living in the city, so the commute is mostly similar. The kid doesn’t know German, so bilingual schools are out, and we’re also coming only for a year so integration is not a goal.
We visited both schools, and it seems that ZIS has nicer facilities, and offers a somewhat more varied curriculum for 10th grade. Also, it offers both IB and AP if we end up staying longer (which is currently not in the cards, but who knows). On the other hand, we were wondering if it’s a school mostly for the “super rich” or are there also middle class kids there. Another issue is that the kid is not into sports/music, they mostly like science, math, STEM and the like. Would they be more likely to find “kindered spirits” at ZIS or ICS or is it a tossup? Is there a bullying problem at these schools?
I’d appreciate info from parents, the info online is extensive on the “official” stuff, but it’s hard to understand the culture of the place.
