International School in Rotkreuz / Zug

Hello,

We are looking to move to the Canton of Zug next year and we are evaluating school options for our pre-school child ( 4 years old) We were wondering if someone had been to the SIS Rotkreuz as a student or parent and could share their perspective? We would like to have some feedback about the school, teachers, diversity policy, etc. for foreing students. Our child speaks French and Spanish with some basic English at the moment so we worry that a Full German school might be too much. Any other international schools in the area you might recommend?

Thank you for your feedback

If you want your child (and you as parents) to integrate, I would suggest that they attend a local kindergarten. School does not begin until they are seven, so you do not have to worry that they will fall behind in their learning. Our two came, english speaking, to Switzerland when they were four and six respectively - they picked up swiss-german very quickly.

At international school, they will stay in the expat bubble - no problem if you intend to leave in a couple of years.

You are making the very common mistake of comparing your ability to pick up a language with a child's' ability......

Your son will be fluent in German within 6 months of starting school !
