International Summer Camps for kids in Switzerland

Been asked by a friend who has a 11/12 year old about International Summer Camps in Switzerland.

Has anyone any experiance in this department??

All views,comments & suggestions welcome.

She is based in Zug, and the camps can be daily ones or even week long stays etc...

I told her the crazy people @ EF would defo be able to help.....dont let me down!!!

The school my son goes do do summer activities (usually just day activities and hime in the evenings, but then that's for smaller children).

Did a Google search and it turned up quite a bit:

Maybe these will provide a lead?

Cheers, Danis

Thanks Danis, yeah i have already sent her various links to camps.

I am really after some feedback specifically on indivdual camps along the lines of:

''my kid went to Zug Happy Times camp last year and it was fantastic...''

Also this is my 100th post.......WWHHHOOOHOOOO!!! Im a member!!!!

There's a company called Les Elfes http://www.leselfes.com/ who organise skiing trips in the winter and various types of activity holidays in the summer. They are based in Verbier but have chalets over the other side of the mountains in La Toumaz and in Crans Montana. They seem a very organised set up and have been doing these for many years. I don't have children so can't comment on personal satisfaction but I am thinking of using them for business purposes.

I am looking for information on summer camp for my niece and nephew for this coming summer. They will come from US and naturally speak English, but only English, no French.

I found some links below, I post them here so maybe someone else may find useful.

Meanwhile, anyone has any personal experiences with one sof these camp can maybe provide some option? Or if you know any other camp, would you please kindly share with us? This last one, altitute seems quite nice, they even take kids start from 4 y.o.

I would prefer the camps in the Swiss French part as I live in Lausanne, it will be easier for me to go visit them, also we hope that they can pick up some French before German...

Might try these:

My experience is over 30 years old, so I am not sure it is relevant, save to say that they have been around that long.....

a lot of useful information! Thanks.

my kids are two small, I am really looking forward that they can join Winter and Summer Camps in zurich ASAP.

My son had 2 weeks at village camps a few years ago in Leysin. It was his first time away from home for that length of time, and it took him a few days to settle down, but he had a great time. The staff were great, and easy to contact. Is a little pricey, but he really liked it.

What type of camp experience is she looking for? Overnight, language? There are a number of them and often the local tourist office can help you out with a list (at least in Lausanne).
