Internet TV?

So I just signed up for Cablecom in Geneva (75,000 DOWN and 7,000 UP - something like that).

I did think about going for the Duo package to get TV but since I don't have a TV yet and might not have one for a few months, I decided against getting the package.

However, I'm curious to know if anyone streams TV channels, shows, and movies? If so which services do you have experience with?

I've used HULU before on a PC for watching a couple episodes of Family Guy during Uni in UK (via VPN to my server in USA) and in general it was ok but it did cut up from time to time and required time to re-buffer but I accepted it as I wasn't paying for it (and it wasn't technically legal to watch it outside USA).

Netflix isn't available here Zattoo seems interesting. Anyone used Google TV? or something else?

viaplay.dk and viaplay.se

filmon.com and the apps

go.sky.com works, iPlayer and other OD players too.

key thing you need: overplay.net

Many people use Zattoo or iPlayer with a UK VPN.

SwissTV VoD is an app. on Samsung Smart TV, and they have a web site too - but I don't know if you can stream content via a PC.

I have the same setup as you, with a TV however (but no Duo plan). I used www.unotelly.com and signed up for their DNS service (disclaimer: no interest, no ownership, no referral bonuses for me)to access netflix/hulu/amazon video/iplayer.

It's great because for about 50-60$/year, I can access these US/UK services on my ps3/apple tv/mac + about 20$/month membership fees for netflix+hulu+amazon vod. So far I've had no performance issues, and they don't have a cap on bandwidth. Don't miss having regular TV channels whatsoever!!
