Sometimes, affording a rent is not easy for an unemployed, and some persons don't like to provide too much about accommodating someone else.
Is this also the case in Switzerland? Because I could not find any information about it.
In France, an employer have an absolute right to ask for a proof address, like electricity bill or a tenant contract, or , if living with someone else, a copy of the id card of that person providing the accomodation, with a signed letter confirming that ("Lettre d'hebergement"). This applies for French nationals and so also for EU member states national looking for work in France.
You would probably need to show you’d registered as being a resident here to get your residence permit and that would require proof of accommodation plus bank statements showing you have enough funds to support yourself while you look for work. For an EU/EFTA national just showing the commune/gemeinde paper proving you’ve applied for your permit should be enough for any employer, though you will probably need to provide them with your permit once that’s issued to you. They’ll take a copy for their employment records.
