I've suddenly been having trouble with getting anything on amazon.de to ship to Switzerland for some reason, even with items that say on the page that it will ship here to CH. But then once I add it to my cart and proceed to try to check out, a notification pops up saying in red font that it cannot be shipped here. I have tried numerous times, with various items, and without fail, everything is now saying that it can't be shipped to Switzerland. This was never a problem before, with items that say they can be shipped to CH on the item page (and I have ordered things from amazon.de many times in the past, having them shipped here). The problem seems to have just begun in the past few days.
Has anyone else been having similar problems or seen anything mentioned somewhere about new restrictions regarding amazon.de shipping here?
I ordered something on Friday for delivery to Switzerland.
Often the item page or filters have the wrong info and you don't find out until you try to check out.
On a few occasions I've bought something marked as "Not available for delivery to you address" and still had it shipped to Switzerland.
You need to make sure that amazon is the seller. Even then some products are still not shipped to Switzerland.
I had my last order on Friday so still seems to work.
Have you tried Amazon UK? I've bought a few things there that were on the DE site but wouldn't ship here, yet would ship from the UK.
Thanks, all.
I guess I've just been unlucky then, with the couple of items that I put in my cart and then found out they won't ship here. So I'll keep trying with other items and will hopefully have more luck at some point.
And yes, thanks, 3Wishes! I also order from amazon.co.uk sometimes as well. That's good to know that sometimes they will ship certain items here that amazon.de won't.
I also use grenzpaket.ch -- a service that allows you to ship to their location(s) in Germany, when items won't ship here. Cost is about 5 Euros per package. But for something so small and inexpensive, I didn't want to have to drive the roughly 45 minutes to get there.
It’s weird because stuff on the UK site is often dispatched from the German warehouse.
I trawl UK, DE and FR and usually find one of the three will ship whatever it is I want.
Ordered something last Wednesday with next-day delivery and it arrived on Friday... So might be a coincidence/bad luck...? Some (few by now) items generally can't be delivered here, but that's always been an issue
Yeah, thankfully it appears to just be my bad luck today. I'm relieved to know that amazon.de still ships here!
It's amazing -- the stuff you can't find anywhere here in Switzerland but can find ~50 different versions of on amazon.
Amazon have relationships with packet centres which you can ship to in Germany and collect for free. Just use your non-Swiss ID otherwise some charge for 'Swiss' collections.
But don't do this often as the nearly hour drive does not make it worth while, so usually combine with a big supermarket shop.
I've found that the number of things that cannot be shipped to Switzerland has significantly increased in the last year or so. In my recent searches it has more often been the things sold directly by Amazon (DE), not third party sellers, that cannot be shipped here. In fact, I often have to go to third parties to get something shipped here.
Books seem for the most part unaffected, however. Thankfully.
But for other goods it's certainly frustrating, especially as the things I am looking to buy are, as far as my fairly extensive searches have shown, unavailable in Switzerland, anywhere at any price.
Which 'packet center' do you mean (that would be free) ??
I wonder what kinds of deals Amazon has with the shipping companies. For example, I've ordered 30 kg of cat litter last week. Price was lower than anywhere in Switzerland, incl Zooplus, and shipping for free (in combination with some other items).
Can you provide a link please?
AFAIK it is Swiss Post. At least some years back they announced a deal.

Usually, only good sold or fulfilled by Amazon directly ship to CS, so you probably need to check if the item is sold/fulfilled by Amazon or some random 3rd party seller. Usually there is a list of sellers to choose from and if Amazon is not the default then you have to select it manually.
Amazon is an antisocial and anti-ecological company, you should buy your stuff somewhere else.

One third of Amazon returns are disposed

Right. We should all stop buying from Amazon so that its roughly one million employees will no longer have jobs.
Sure, right, 'cos every other major online retailer is a paragon of virtue, right?
Like them or not, Amazon have completely changed the way we buy things, and helped to bring down inflated prices elsewhere. If you prefer to pay more for the same thing then that's your choice, but most of the rest of the world will not agree with you.
Anti-globalists always make me laugh, prepared as they are to jump on every "corporation X is evil" bandwagon, usually without the first shred of any actual evidence.
I was trying to ship an item from amazon.de which was delivered to switzerland in Nov2019, Seller Amazon, Product description says item can be shipped but when you proceed to payment it says item cannot be shipped, so yeah they have reduced number of items they are shipping to CH.
