Is it OK to visit Jungfraujoch and Matterhorn around Christmas time?

We will visit CH next week, thinking about a trip to visit Jungfraujoch and Matterhorn around Christmas time. Will it be too cold and whether the business open during this time? Thanks for any advice!

They seem to have activities for Christmas. Best to email them. But there are trains.

Thanks for the quick response with all the helpful information!

If you're just there to see the views of the glacier or of the Matterhorn, make sure the weather is clear first!

(neither are very clear today)

that would be disppointing if we can't even see the mountain tops, thanks for the heads up!

I do not know about the Jungfraujoch, but Zermatt (Matterhorn) is lovely at Christmas time, and would certainly make a nice trip.

But like others have said, check the forecast since it would be disappointing to get to Zermatt and not be able to see anything!

Funny that a sales lady today told me that she just came back from Engleberg and the whole family loved it so much that they want to go back again in Spring. She told me she stayed in one of the vacation apartment facing the snow capped mountain and valley and the night view is just magical. I think we may end up trying that. Though I need to find out how to get there from Basel. Thanks everyone here giving me advice!
