Some rules are set by the local town hall - not mowing on Sundays being one of my local ones.
Out in our corner of Aargau, at least in our building, we have no rules. Or, that's what it seems like anyway. Laundry (in the basement, so doesn't disturb the residents) can be done anytime the machines are free, except for between 11:00 am and noon (something about all the hausfraus cooking lunch for their kids and drawing a lot of current at the same time as the laundry machines?!?!) Hammering and drilling also seem to be freely allowed and the Swiss and the non-Swiss residents partake equally. I guess it's nice that things are relaxed, except I occasionally feel some bünzli coming over me.
