Is it safe during preg. to drink lemon-honey in warm water first thing in the morning

I have heard that drinking lemon honey in warm water is good during pregnancy(especially in first trimester). But is it good if you take it soon after you wake up??

Mostly non-pregnant people drink it empty stomach for weight loss.

Yes, but only if you add whisky.

I drink it to cure colds, flu and cholera. I've also heard it said that it is efficacious against consumption and the French pox, but I have never tested it myself.

Yeah that was funny!!

Yes indeed it keeps you away from at least colds and flu having tested it myself throughout the winters.

i thought you were not meant to have honey during pregnancy.

That's babies under one year. OK for pregnant ladies, though.

Oh! Thanks! Good to know that!

It is safe to eat honey(preferable pasteurized) during pregnancy. Honey poses a risk to infants under 1 year old. More info on this website

Home made honey void of botuline is great. The sweetness will calm your acids, and lemon, honestly, did wonders for my horrible nausea which lasted 9mo. So, I had kilos of sour apples, lemons, ginger. Great stuff.

Have it and try it, warm acidic drink is recommended to have your bowles kick started, since most preggos suffer from constipation. YOu might have to run fast, though.

I thought honey is only dangerous for infants, but ok during pregnancy. I didn't research this carefully though, but a quick search reveals e.g. http://www.babycenter.com/404_is-it-...cy_10305372.bc

Why not? as long as it is not liters of the drink. I've heard that it combats against anemia!

I knew you were handy but goodness - you keep bees as well?

None of your beeswax, hahaha....

But really, nope, unfortunately, the hives got given away.

I still have grampa's honey it keeps really well. Colleagues are beekpers, too. Just buy local produce, it's really nice.

I had a first-hand experience. My first drinking was the warm LH water every day during my pregnacy period. My little one now is 7-month old and healthy. Pregnant woman often has a problem of going to toillet. It is dangerous to do it with force which is most likely to hurt her baby.

I'm pregnant, and to my (pleasant) surprise, my OB/GYNs here have told me that it's safe for me to have up to 3 cups of coffee per day! Well, I only have one cup in the morning, but that will also certainly help keep you "moving" (in more ways than one).

But I had never heard of the honey thing -- that it's bad for giving it to babies. So thanks for the tip!

P.S. I'm amazed at how much stuff the doctors here tell me that I CAN have, compared to what most US doctors seem to say to avoid...

I love how they are so relaxed with stuff here. Dietwise, the only thing my doctor was concerned about was that I was careful with washing salads and cooking meat through and always did a test for toxioplasmosis each time I went for a check up.

It wasn't till the end of the pregnancy that I found out that I shouldn't really have had sushi or shellfish , whereas I had been erroneously staying away from salad dressings containing "raw" eggs - the "raw" eggs they usually use are pasteurised and powdered anyway.

I think you just have to be unlucky if you get sick through eating something like shellfish or raw eggs but people act like they have suddenly become highly allergic to them...
