Is Sunrise doing something 'odd'

If I try to go to www.tunnelbear.com using my wifi (Sunrise) I get an error saying their certificate is 'dodgy'. NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID.

This happens on all devices in all browsers using wifi

But if I use my android phone, disable wifi and only use 4G (swisscom) I have no problem in any browser on my phone

Why ? It's the same site sending the same info to the same browser.. isn't it ?

I've gone through my Sunrise router settings and can't see anything obvious in any 'security/privacy' options.

I just tried this over my home Sunrise connection - works fine.

I've reset the router to no effect but am starting to wonder if its a virus

mmm.. if I change my browser settings to use - say - Google DNS servers - that site is fine

seems like, somehow the router's dns settings have been hacked.. there is a setting for static DNS and I can't turn it off or change it

I'd be very grateful if anyone else with a sunrise router can confirm if they can change that setting

I have sunrise as well, using cable only, no issues here.

Perhaps try a user agent switcher.

IIRC it's the WaPo site I can't access when claiming to use FF. I get an infinite reroute error.

Thanks everyone.. my router seems F'd.

If I set IP4 explicitly to the google DNS servers in windows and android everything is fine so I have a fairly simple workaround. Otherwise I'm getting bogus error messages for some sites

Spent half an hour with 'tech support' at Sunrise and was told that they had disabled static dns for me from 'their side'. But on my side the router interface still said it was still on and I couldn't turn it off.

They then basically said it was not their problem ! I objected strongly and an 'engineer' will call me next week.

Still don't understand why a router factory reset doesn't fix the problem.
