Hi all,
Slightly bizarre request, but a necessary one nonetheless!
Just coming off a week of night-shift in Zurich and in order to get my sleeping rhythms back on track, will need to stay up through the afternoon and just go to bed fairly early, 8pm or so.
My workmate on shift with me has suggested the way to do it is to have a bit of a session once we finish...i have quelled the skeptical voice inside me and am willing to do this...but where is open at 8am in the morning in Zurich?

There's a couple of bars in the Hbf. Note however that at that time of day, you might encounter some classy drinking buddies...
Give that a couple of hours and then go to one of the regular haunts.

Everything on Langstrasse is open from about 6am, Memphis would be my choice
I think i would rather drink on the tracks of the Hbf than in the Gràˆbli!! Thanks for the suggestion though.
Langstrasse is maybe a bit out of comfort range for a friday morning, bubbles it is!
If you want a non-smoking place full of students bqm up at the ETH is a chilled place to hang out and they have a fairly good selection of beers, a fussball table and interesting scenery.
Well we mainly stuck to the tried and tested Paddy's/Hotel X-Tra combo...
