Any suggestions?
I'm trying to find something like TUMS (chewable, Calcium Carbonate) for indigestion here in Switzerland. The pharmacist didn't quite understand when I asked for anti-acid, and motioned to my stomach - she tried to give me something called Flatulex instead. Not exactly the problem I was looking to solve.
try asking for omeprazole - write it down and take it woth you. They should have that.

thanks.
i may not be able to take that one (looks like it is Prilosec in the US) due
to another condition, but i will check.
any other suggestions for something really mild, and non-prescription?
I use Riopan Gel. Comes in small tubes to take with you as a liquid. I couldn't find chewable ones here.
The condition is known as Sodbrennen in German - and I suffer from it badly during pregnancy.
It is prilosec, generic version though.
If your suffering in the meantime don't eat/drink the following:
chocolate, milk, mint, alcohol, spicey foods.
perfect. i will look for that.
thank you - getting the name of the condition is the way to go.
Found your question whilst looking for the Swiss equivalent of Rennies and and thought I would let you all know my findings . For anyone in the Montreux area, about three stores up on the lefthand side from the multi-shopping precinct "The Forum", "Mullers", the large chemist store, stocks Rennies - calcium carbonate 680mg and heavy magnesium carbonate 80mg, plus sugar and glucose 250mg. Hope this helps someone.
Rennie, available everywhere in Switzerland!
