Close to freezing this morning at 1C! Went for a walkie on a nearby lake and watched the trout rings break on the water.
I guess we’re in a sweet spot these days. When I first moved here, November was miserable and gray all the time. Now, it tends to be foggy in the morning, but in the afternoons it’s sunshine and blue skies. Just outside of Bern, at an elevation of maybe 500 m?
Who suffers from depression on the cold foggy damp drizzly wet days?
Yesterday morning on the Sihlsee, opposite from Einsiedeln! Amazing!
Camped there and woke up to that view after an amazing sunset the night before!
Then today back in Zurich for some clouds and not so blue sky…
Ahem…
Ja, und? One reason I don’t live there anymore. It was just better than many low-lying areas.
So there is no fog in Ticino?
Usually, no fog.
This map is generic and pretty poor. For example, it shows fog in GR for today when in fact it is sunny south of Sargans right now. The only reliable way to check current conditions is via webcams.
Agreed, I always check webcams, but the map I think it is still useful for an overall picture of Switzerland. Some places such as Ticino are really pretty fog free.
The map was spot on for I went this morning - Schwyz south.
The forecast ability is something that a webcam cannot do but I concur that for current conditions, webcams are the best.
T shirts and shorts today on the terrace/balcony. Possible snow flurries on Tuesday!
Chli Aubrig. I haven’t been up there for years.
Yes. Quick and easy, not far. Probably 5x a year.
Ouch.
Every time these last weeks I go from Gros-de-Vaud Bünzliland @450m elevation down to the lake (Montreux and Villeneuve) it is like coming to a different country. Here the grass doesn’t even dry throughout the day, there it is sunshine all the day.
Now I begin understanding the property prices there being what they are.
