Jet Ski in the lakes

I'm fond of jet-skiing, and would be awesome if i will be able to ride at lake Lugano.

However i found a thread here in the forums, where a member stated that he/she heard that

jet skis are not allowed in Switzerland...!!

That thread hardly got any answers, so i'm bringing up this issue again,

just in case it gets more attention or some new members have some information.

The situation with jet skis in Switzerland seems odd.....

The big manufactures of ''jet-skis'' or pwc, Yamaha and Kawasaki haven't got any dealers in Switzerland selling this type of products. (!)

I found a store in Aargau selling Sea-Doo.s, a brand that sells mostly in the USA... (!!)

There are quite some posts on the internet saying that jet-skis are not permitted in the lakes of Switzerland (!)

An acquaintance told me that she has seen jet skis in Lugano (!)

There is an International jet ski race at lake Gruyeres in Fribourg (!!!!)

Anybody has any views on this matter?

And dare I ask whether anybody has any information about registring jet-skis in Switzerland....

Yes, I once wanted to try one out and I can confirm that the are illegal in Switzerland. No jet engine driven boat or similar either, end of story. Sorry, I'd love to have one as well...

EDIT: Here you are, as official as it gets:

There is one event where jet skis are used. It takes place on Lake Neuchatel, in Estavayer-le-lac. It's called Free 4 Style. Info can be found here. http://www.free4style.com/2010/fr/17...+%26+News.html

The Only Exceptions i've seen are in Lake Geneva on the french side, you can have a power boat on the water, and Jet ski's fly around there. best google around as it's 2yrs ago when i saw on in the water

And if you ever wondered how to get the thing in and out of the water...

Oh my Gosh!!!

OMG and LOL at the same time!

And the van seems to be drifted...
