Hello everyone,
I have moved to live in Zurich, and apparently it is very tough to find a job unless someone masters the German language or even Swiss German.
Can anyone help me find where to start looking for jobs that don't require German. Is there any consulting/recruiting companies or websites. Or at least what are that companies that might need employees without German.
I actually speak English, French and Arabic and currently level A2 in german. I have a BS in nutrition and have significant work experience in medical centers, in catering companies, food consulting companies and i have a fair experience in managerial and administrative jobs.
So that was a brief description of my previous experience, can anyone help me where to start searching because i desperately need to work.
P.S no need for the work to be senior level, any entry level job
Look at the links provided in this thread.

But I have to say that as a dietician you may need a good standard of written/spoken German to be able to work in medicine, i.e. hospitals, etc.
It may be a pain, but if you already speak French you might be better looking for work in the western part of the country rather than the eastern side.
Perhaps moving to the French speaking part would be better for you, the people are friendlier too
Just out of interest, why did you move here without first conducting the proper research about where you would be living?
Probably for the same reason as lots of other women who find themselves in the same position, her husband's job.
According to
this thread the women should be faithful housewives waiting for their beloved husbands to come home from work. Anything else would be perceived as provocative non-Swiss behavior
Considering neither her opening post in this thread, or her first post ever on the forum introducing herself, give any of this information then I'm not sure why you say it like I should somehow magically know it.
It's a pretty logical assumption to make if you ask me. What's the most common reason for a woman to find herself in a place where she can't communicate or get a job easily? A man if course. If it's not her husband's job then it's probably a a Swiss boyfriend or something. You don't have to Einstein to work it out.
I think doing her homework has nothing to do with the reasons why she is here, and I think that's what (maybe) Richdog meant - why didn't she do her homework? (as opposed to "why is she here?"). If that's the case, then how would he (or any of us, for that matter) know?
I was going to give you all a piece of my mind about what I think of a fellow woman who follows a random man to a place where she can't communicate without doing her homework, but then I remembered that I myself, back in the day, followed a random job opportunity to a place where I couldn't communicate without doing my homework, so...
You can try on this group in facebook "neu in Zürich"https://www.facebook.com/groups/neuinzuerich/?fref=ts
It is not a "job finding group" but it maybe helps to make some contacts meeting local people.
Good luck!

Where do you live?
Bern area might offer more opportunities for French speakers.
Because i had to join my husband who works in Zurich
i live in Zurich but actually i am willing to go bern, luzern , Basel any of the nearest cantons to work, my only concern is to find something to start with.
It is very difficult to find a job in ZH not speaking high or Swiss German, or even being into the culture already.
I was very fortunate and there are a number of multinational companies located here that fit my background. I will say, my salary here is 25% or more less because the company got me in where they could. But like you I followed my DHs career, so this is still great for me.
Your best bet is to network within your current contacts, join events, and just keep applying at jobs you think you are qualified for. Troll Linkedin like crazy. Even with doing all that, for me, looking for a job became a job. And while you are looking, enroll in German courses.
Best of luck
