Job search (EU national)

Hello there!

Do you happen to know if theres a chance to get a job in Switzerland for a swedish person that just started out in the workforce and only speaks English?

I was thinking Canton Zug had some companies that hire English speakers but this is only for executive positions it seems.

If you know anything, let me know. Thanks for your time!

How Long is a length of String?
Ask yourself.
Do you speak any if the local Languages?
Do you have any skills that would give you an Advantage over a Native?
Are you EU or non EU origin?
Why would any Company Take the trouble to Hire a foreign national?
Not impossible, but improbable.

Welcome to the forum. :slightly_smiling_face:

Would be difficult since you don’t speak a Swiss language and also don’t have any skills/experience to offer an employer. There’s an FAQ here which may give you some guidance.

Maybe some of the UN organisations in Geneva or the Sports associations in Lausanne or FIFA in Zurich or UEFA in Nyon.

It would be helpful if the OP stated what his actual field of work is and what if any qualifications he has. They said they just entered the workforce but that doesn’t necessarily mean they have no skills to offer.

TBF they did say they were Swedish, which was still in the EU the last time I looked, so the point about unique skills and foreignness are moot.

Language, yes, experience, even more. Taking on a foreign non-Swiss speaking graduate straight out of college (I’m assuming) with no work experience is. err, unlikely, to say the least.

Find a Job in Sweden, my friend, get some time under your belt, come back in 5 years.

… and learn one of the languages.

Shouldn’t be too difficult for him.

I guess he could do a Summer internship on an Alp. Those jobs are always available.

If he can make it on an Alp, he can make it everywhere
